What is Sweet Synchronicity Dream Journal and what is it not?

Sweet Synchronicity Dream Journal is a personal dream journal with AI-powered symbolic interpretation. It's a space for self-reflection, curiosity, and exploring the imagery your mind creates while you sleep.

It is not therapy, and it is not medical or psychological advice. If you're experiencing distressing dreams or sleep issues, please speak with a qualified mental health professional.

How does AI dream analysis work? What should I expect?

When you request an analysis, your dream entry is sent to an AI model trained on Jungian and archetypal symbolism. It looks at the imagery, emotions, and themes in your dream and offers possible interpretations.

Think of it as a thoughtful reflection partner — not a definitive answer. Dreams are deeply personal, so the interpretation is a starting point for your own exploration, not a verdict.

How does voice transcription work?

Tap the microphone button when creating a dream entry and speak your dream aloud. The app records your voice and sends the audio to OpenAI's Whisper API, which converts it to text. The transcription is then saved as your dream entry.

Voice transcription is a Premium feature. Your audio is sent securely to OpenAI's Whisper API and is retained for up to 30 days for safety monitoring, then automatically deleted. OpenAI does not use it to train their models.

Is there a limit on voice transcription?

Yes — the app supports up to 2,000 characters per transcription, which covers most dream recordings comfortably. Your transcription is trimmed to that length if it runs longer.

What does the free tier include?

With a free account you can create and save unlimited dream entries, add emotions and tags, browse your dream history, and export your dreams. You also get access to 10 dream glossary symbols as a sample. Features like AI dream analysis, voice transcription, pattern insights, and the full glossary require a Premium subscription.

What does Premium include, and how do I upgrade?

Premium unlocks everything:

You can upgrade by tapping "Upgrade to Premium" in Settings, or from any Premium feature prompt in the app. We offer a Monthly plan ($4.99/month) and an Annual plan ($39.99/year).

How does the monthly analysis limit work? When does it reset?

Premium members get up to 30 dream interpretations in each 30-day period. The count resets after each period, and your current usage and reset date are always shown on any dream's detail screen.

What happens when I reach my analysis limit?

You'll be able to run more interpretations once your 30-day period resets — your exact reset date is always shown on any dream's detail screen. In the meantime you can still journal, explore the glossary, and review your past entries and previous analyses.

My Premium isn't showing after I subscribed. How do I restore my purchases?

Make sure you are logged into the same account used to purchase. Then go to the upgrade screen and tap Restore Purchases at the bottom. If the issue persists, contact us below.

How do I delete a dream entry?

Open the dream you want to delete. On the dream detail page, tap the red trash can icon in the upper right corner. You will be asked to confirm before the dream is removed. Deleted dreams cannot be recovered, so double-check before you confirm.

How do I delete my account and all my data?

You can delete your account and all your dream data directly from within the app. Open Settings, scroll to the bottom of the screen, and tap Delete Account below the Sign Out button. You will be asked to confirm and to enter your password to verify the deletion. Once confirmed, your account, all your dreams, voice recordings, and personal information will be permanently deleted within minutes. This action cannot be undone.

If you are unable to access the app for any reason, contact us at support@beverlyotisdesign.app with the subject line Account Deletion Request and we will handle the deletion for you.

If you have an active subscription, please cancel it separately through your device App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription.

Are my dreams private? How is my data stored?

Yes, your dreams are private. They are stored securely in Firebase Firestore, tied to your account, and are not visible to anyone else.

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties. If you are a Premium member and use voice recording, your audio is backed up to Firebase Storage and linked to your account after transcription.

Some features use third-party AI services. Audio sent for transcription is processed by OpenAI's Whisper API, and dream text sent for analysis is processed by Anthropic's Claude API. These services retain inputs and outputs for up to 30 days for safety monitoring, then automatically delete them. Neither service uses your data to train their models. How do I request a refund?

Sweet Synchronicity Dream Journal does not issue refunds directly. However, Apple and Google have their own refund policies, and if your situation fits their guidelines, you can request a refund through them directly. For full details, see our Refund Policy.

Something isn't working correctly. What should I do?

First, try closing and reopening the app. If the issue persists, try signing out and back in.

If you're still experiencing a problem, contact us below and describe what's happening — include your device and what you were doing when the issue occurred. That helps us track it down much faster.
